Grace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! My name is Jason Gardner and I am the pastor here at First Baptist Church, Seagoville. I joined the FBC staff in January of 2010. I am a student of Scripture and enjoy sharing God’s Word through expository preaching and bible study.
I trusted Christ for salvation in 1994 at 17 years of age. I answered God’s call to ministry in 1999 and began preaching throughout Louisiana while I finished my bachelor’s degree in Social Science at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. After graduation, Melissa and I married and moved to New Orleans. During our time in the Big Easy, Melissa earned her M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the University of New Orleans in 2003 and I earned my M.Div. with specialization in biblical languages from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004. After serving at a church plant in Covington, LA, I accepted a call as pastor of Pisgah Baptist Church in Forest Hill, LA, where Melissa and I served for nearly six years.
In addition to being a full-time pastor, I am a full-time Ph.D. student at Dallas Theological Seminary. My academic interests include New Testament Greek, biblical theology, the use of the Old Testament in the New, and eschatology. I am also a member of both the Evangelical Theological Society and the Society of Biblical Literature.
Melissa and I have been blessed with four beautiful children Leah, Andrew, and twins Evan & Caleb. In addition to church and family activities, I enjoy music (I play drums and guitar!), reading, and a round of golf!
