Jesus proclaimed in John 10:10 that He came to bring abundant life to humanity, while Paul emphasized in Romans the contrast between the wages of sin and the gift of eternal life in Christ. Throughout scripture, we witness the theme of life lost through sin and restored through Jesus Christ—a mission to reconcile a broken world to God’s intended life. Our faith community embraces this mission wholeheartedly, committing ourselves to participate in God’s work of restoration.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
We believe in the vibrant, loving, and transformative rule of God’s Kingdom, where we have found abundant life. Following Jesus isn’t just a personal journey; it’s a historical and contemporary movement of surrendering our lives to discover something more prosperous and profound.
Though not always easy, following Christ has been life-giving for us, shaping our identity and purpose as a church.
All our ministries and efforts are aligned with this mission.
As Christ-followers, our journey begins with worship—engaging in various forms of devotion to encounter and love God deeply.
Yet, the journey doesn’t end there.
We cultivate meaningful relationships, recognizing the imperfections but valuing the unity and support found in walking together with Christ. Moreover, we find fulfillment in serving others, extending the invitation to experience life in Christ to all, irrespective of their past. Join us on this journey of abundant life in Christ.
In the wilderness that is now the city of Seagoville, a group of determined Christians met to seek God’s guidance and plan to establish a church that would be a lighthouse, inviting both saved and unsaved to meet and serve God together.
We recognize that current events are rooted in the past, and we honor our legacy and the humble reminder that our church’s journey predates us. Established in 1872 as Friendship Baptist Church, later renamed First Baptist Church of Seagoville in 1929, our congregation has been a beacon of light for over 150 years.
With the guidance of God’s Spirit, we continue to impact our community and beyond, confident that our brightest days lie ahead.
